Tonight we kicked off the conference with some early workshops and a New Teacher Academy held by Rose Potter who is an ingeniously gifted teacher trainer! Her passion for training the next generation of world language teachers is contagious!
Tomorrow morning the real craziness begins with registration, an opening plenary session and afterwards the break out sessions. I always get so excited to come to TFLA to be refreshed, share ideas and reconnect with friends and colleagues from other places such as Noah Geisel, ACTFL Teacher of the Year, who is our keynote speaker Saturday. How exciting is that! We also have a special guest presenter, Clarissa Fletcher Adams, who is a former ACTFL Teacher of the Year. This year's conference is going to be a good one!
Another exciting development is that TFLA has joined the Twitterverse so you can now follow TFLA and enjoy those profound nuggets of wisdom that our participants tweet out as well as news from the organization itself. You can follow TFLA at @TFLA_Tweets. We are working hard to promote our conference hashtag (#tfla13) so that our teachers in Texas who could not be with us can still benefit from the awesome sessions and workshops offered this year. ALSO, if you are one of my "tweeps" and you are here at TFLA, you know you better find me and say hello! :)
That's it for Thursday night, I will be back and blogging about the events that transpire all day Friday, so tune in tomorrow for more excitement from TFLA!
